Teri Adams
With over 45 years of quilting experience and 24 years of teaching mathematics in higher education, I bring both deep quilting knowledge and proven teaching expertise to every class. I understand how people learn—and how to explain complex ideas in clear, approachable ways.
I began quilting at age 12 and have grown from a casual quilter into a longarm quilter, pattern designer, and instructor. Along the way, I’ve learned that many quilters struggle not because they lack creativity, but because of small habits, misunderstandings, or confidence gaps that compound over time. My teaching focuses on building strong foundations, improving piecing accuracy, and correcting the behaviors that quietly prevent quilters from progressing.
I’ve taught beginner quilting classes in the UK and Colorado, as well as provided one-on-one instruction for beginner quilters and longarmers who benefit from personalized guidance. My background in math education allows me to break down techniques step by step, explain the “why” behind the process, and help students truly understand what they’re doing—so skills stick and frustration fades.
I believe strongly in paying it forward and creating a supportive, judgment-free learning environment. Whether you’re just beginning your quilting journey or have years of experience but feel stuck, my goal is to help you quilt with confidence, clarity, and joy.
